European Week of Sport 2026 – Let’s Get Active Together!
From 23 to 30 September 2026, the European Week of Sport (#BeActive) returns, encouraging people of all ages to embrace an active and healthy lifestyle. This Europe-wide initiative brings together sports clubs, organizations and communities with one common goal: inspiring more people to discover the joy of regular physical activity.
In Hungary, the European Week of Sport is coordinated by the National Student, Leisure and Sport Association (NDHSZ) with the support of the State Secretariat for Sport. Throughout September, hundreds of sporting events, open days and community activities will be available across the country, many of them free of charge or offered at discounted rates.
Why is the European Week of Sport important?
Regular physical activity plays a vital role in maintaining both physical and mental well-being. Beyond improving health, sport helps build confidence, strengthens communities and creates lifelong healthy habits. The European Week of Sport encourages everyone—from young children to adults—to find an activity they enjoy and make movement part of everyday life.
During September, participants can discover a wide range of sporting opportunities through open events, demonstrations and community programmes taking place across Hungary.
