- What age groups do you offer swimming programs for? Our swimming programs are available for all age groups, from young children to adults. Please note that baby swimming classes are unfortunately not available. To register, the following criteria must be met: the child must be at least 3 years old, reach a height of 90 cm, and be toilet trained.
For adults, we can only accept advanced swimmers who are confident in deep water.
- When do the courses start, and at what times do the classes take place? You can join our courses continuously, and assessments are conducted regularly. New sessions start every month.
- What experience do the instructors have at the school? Experienced, qualified instructors teach at our school, all of whom have swimming instructor certifications and several years of experience. Additionally, there are trainee instructors who observe and learn.
- How are children assigned to levels during the courses? The child’s skill level is assessed through a placement test, which is conducted in smaller groups. The instructors consider the child’s swimming ability, emotional and social development, and relationship with water to assign them to the appropriate group. The goal of the assessment is also to familiarize the child with the Iron Swim School program’s environment and instructors, allowing them to start their first lesson with confidence. Placement tests take place on Mondays and Fridays at 3:30 PM. Please ensure that only registered candidates with an appointment attend! For adults, the placement test is not mandatory, but we can only accept advanced swimmers who are confident in deep water.
- Do you offer separate programs for beginner and advanced adults?
Our adult programs are exclusively for advanced swimmers who are confident in deep water.
- What levels of swimming courses do you offer? The swimming school offers various levels of courses, from beginner to advanced, for both children and adults.
- How many children are in a group? The number of children in groups varies, but generally, beginner (shallow water) groups consist of 5-8 children, ensuring personalized attention. Advanced (deep water) groups have 10-15 participants.
- How many participants are in an adult swimming group? Typically, there are 5-7 participants in each adult class.
- What equipment does the swimming school provide? The swimming school provides various swimming aids, such as kickboards and swim buoys, during lessons.
- What restrictions are there for registering for group classes? Children’s assessments are conducted in smaller groups and on a scheduled basis. In addition to swimming ability, the course instructors take into account the emotional and social development of the children, as well as their relationship with water. Starting criteria: must be at least 3 years old, reach a height of 80 cm, and be toilet-trained.
- What are the most important things to know for the days leading up to swimming lessons? It is not recommended to eat at least 1 hour before swimming lessons.
- What are the requirements for different swimming levels?
- Iron 0: General water safety, gliding on stomach and back.
- Iron 1: Stable leg kicks on stomach and back, basic arm strokes.
- Iron 2: Freestyle with side breathing, breaststroke leg kicks, coordinating arm strokes on stomach and back, introduction to deep water.
- Iron 3: Achieving deep water safety, mastering previously learned techniques in deep water.
- Iron 4: Basics of butterfly stroke, diving, correct technique in back, breast, and freestyle.
- Iron 5: Mastery of correct techniques in all 4 strokes, tumble turns, longer endurance swims.
- Iron 6: Adult recreational group, technique improvement.
- What should I do if my child is not feeling well during the lesson? Please ensure to consult the instructor or contact us via email at oktatas@ironswim.hu
- How are parents informed about class cancellations or changes? If an urgent cancellation is necessary, we will inform the relatives by phone. For additional cancellations and replacements, you can find information in our news feed or receive notifications directly via email.
- Is there a possibility of a refund if someone has to interrupt the course or cannot attend classes? Officially, we are unable to refund money, only in cases of force majeure!
- Can classes be rescheduled if someone cannot attend the advertised time? Rescheduling classes is possible only via email. We strive to accommodate all requests within reasonable limits.
- How long does a course last? How many sessions are there in a course, and how often are the classes? We have monthly sessions, with weekly passes available for 1, 2, or 3 classes. Each class has all levels available, except for the adult Iron 6 group, which is only available at 6 PM on weekdays and at 10 AM on Saturdays.

After logging into our site, please create your swimmer profile! Multiple profiles can be managed under one username, so you do not need to register again but can create another profile.
For adults, an adult profile is recommended.
- What fees are there, and what payment methods are accepted? Fees vary depending on the course. Payments can be made via bank transfer or online credit card.
- Is there a discount for group registrations? Unfortunately, we cannot provide discounts for group registrations.
- What equipment is needed for the classes (swim cap, swimsuit, goggles)? The basic equipment required for the classes includes: swimsuit, swim cap, and goggles. It is recommended that children use their own equipment.
- What methods are used in swimming instruction? The instruction uses playful methods, technical exercises, and personalized development plans for children and adults.
- How are parents informed about their child’s progress? Parents are informed personally on-site or through a separate email if they inquire. Additionally, they can track progress by filling out the criteria found in the child’s profile.
- Is there an opportunity to switch groups if the child’s development warrants it? Yes, we strive to place every child according to their swimming skill level. Our instructors continuously monitor swimmers’ progress, and if a level change occurs, we inform both the parent and the child via email and on-site.
- How is the parent meeting or information about programs communicated to parents? Information is communicated via our website or through our news feed.
- Is there an opportunity for parents to train while their children are in lessons? Unfortunately, the public cannot be present in the pool during swimming lessons.
- How long can parents accompany their children in the swimming area? Parents are not allowed to enter the pool area. Children are accompanied by instructors or the on-site coordinator into the pool area. Parents may wait in the cafeteria or lobby while their child is in class.
- Can parents participate in the classes? Parents cannot attend regular swimming lessons, but we periodically organize open days when they can observe their child’s progress.
- Can parents help with their children’s dressing? Parents can help their children dress in the changing rooms, but it is important to arrive on time at the pool before and after the lessons.
- How should children be properly prepared for swimming? It is important for children to always arrive with the necessary equipment (swim cap, swimsuit, goggles) and to avoid eating at least one hour before swimming lessons. Ensure that your child is toilet-trained and informs the instructor before using the restroom.
- Is there a dressing ticket available for parents? How much does it cost? The swimming facility provides dressing tickets for parents, allowing them to help their children in the changing room before and after class.
The price of the dressing ticket is 350 HUF per entry (allows two entries), and it can be purchased on-site at the cash register.
- What health and safety regulations apply to swimming instruction? It is important that children’s health is appropriate for swimming instruction. Please inform the instructors of any health issues. Please emphasize to your child swimming in shallow water that if they need to use the restroom, they should ask our instructors! If your child is not completely healthy or is not yet 100% toilet trained, DO NOT BRING THEM TO CLASS!
- What happens if my child gets sick and cannot attend classes?
- Missed classes are only accepted with a medical certificate.
- If the child cannot attend classes for other reasons, please notify us at least 24 hours before the class starts about the cancellation or change.
- For private lessons, cancellations must also be reported at least 24 hours before the session starts.

- Can I request a trial lesson before enrolling? Yes, in fact, a placement assessment is mandatory for children before joining.
Times: Mondays and Fridays at 3:30 PM. Registration is required beforehand.
- How can I cancel the classes if my child or I cannot attend?
Cancellations must be reported at least 24 hours before the start of the class. You can do this via email at oktatas@ironswim.hu. Missed classes cannot be made up unless a medical certificate is presented. - What should I do if my child cannot attend classes due to illness?
If the child has a medical certificate, the missed classes can be made up in the next session. Please send the medical certificate to us as soon as possible after the first missed class via our internal page in the Make-up Request section. - What happens if we do not report the absence in time and there is no medical certificate?
Unfortunately, if the class is not canceled in advance and there is no medical certificate, we are unable to make up or refund the missed session. - Is there a possibility for a refund if we change our mind during the course?
Course fees cannot be refunded. However, in the case of a medical certificate, the remaining classes can be used later. - Can private lessons be cancelled? If so, under what conditions?
Private lessons can also be cancelled, but they must be reported at least 24 hours before the session. Otherwise, the full price of the private lesson will be charged. - What happens if the swimming school cancels the class?
If a class is cancelled due to the swimming school (for example, due to maintenance or other reasons), participants will be notified in advance, and the missed class will be made up later (they will receive a make-up session credited to their profile). - Can the classes be made up if we cannot attend due to other commitments?
If you cannot attend the class due to other commitments and the cancellation is not made in time, the specific class cannot be made up. Please try to plan to avoid late cancellations.
- What options are available for competition preparation?
The swimming school offers competitive training, during which students can develop their technique and endurance. Contact: klub@ironswim.hu. - Is there an opportunity to participate in swimming camps?
Yes, the swimming school organizes swimming camps during the summer break, where children can participate in intensive training sessions. - Is there parking at the Duna Arena?
The parking at the Duna Arena became paid starting September 2024. According to the new system, a fee of 210 HUF will be charged for every started half hour of parking, while the first 20 minutes are free.
